Over the past year, the Opioid Working Group has supported a range of initiatives through abatement funding that have expanded recovery and youth support services across Lynn. These funds have provided 155 sober home scholarships, covering up to three months of rent to help individuals in recovery maintain stable housing, supported off-site engagement with recovery coaches for 120 individuals accessing care, provided wrap around support services to over 269 clients receiving substance use treatment services and distributed mental wellness care kits to 50 at-risk youth.
The Opioid Working Group also invested in youth opportunity by helping fund summer employment for 100 at-risk youth and supporting an additional night of teen drop-in programming. Through the OWG Bright Futures Fund, 12 Lynn high school students were awarded $1,000 scholarships. This scholarship program supports young people impacted by substance use and helps remove financial barriers as they work toward their educational and personal goals.
