The Lynn Department of Public Works is responsible for overseeing and providing the citizens of Lynn with a wide variety of daily services. From roadway and sidewalk construction to trash pick-up, park maintenance and snow plowing, the DPW works to efficiently meet the needs of its constituents -- the Citizens of Lynn.
We take great pride in our efforts to provide, improve and expand upon a level of public services that affect your everyday life and the quality of life in Lynn. But, our efforts rely heavily upon your assistance and cooperation with the Department in adhering to collection schedules, parks maintenance, attention to street-sweeping schedules and snow emergencies. As a Citizen, you play a critical role in our ability to serve you.

City Hall Essential Services Provided By Department During Covid-19

The Lynn Public Works office is currently closed to the public and the staff is working remotely.The Department continues to provide the following essential services:

Maintenance of City emergency vehicles and equipment,

Burials at Pine Grove Cemetery

Trash removal from the City’s parks
-
Street sweeping service on a limited basis.

Trash and recycling complaints are being handled remotely, the best way to notify us of issues is through the “Report Trash/Recycle Issue” link on the DPW portion of the City website.

-Solid Waste Collection payments can only be made by check/money order at the present time due to the office being closed. There is presently no online option. You can make them payable to the City of Lynn. Mail them to the Collector’s Office, 3 City Hall, Square, Lynn, MA 01901. There are also mailbox drop off locations at City Hall (Johnson Street side) or the DPW, 250 Commercial Street, Lynn, MA 01905. Please make sure to include bill number on your check or enclose the coupon with payment.
