Overview
The Director of Elder Services seeks a highly-motivated, well-organized, compassionate,
self-starting multitasker to serve as Program Manager for the soon-to-be opened
Lynn Senior Center. The Program Manager will work collaboratively with the Director of Elder Services to promote creative, engaging programs for the City’s 60+ population and assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Senior Center.
Duties
Develops, coordinates and implements programs, services and activities as assigned by the Director of Elder Services.
Submits plans for each new program, services, or activity to Director for consultation and approval.
Coordinates implementation of events; makes all necessary arrangements and confirmations.
Recruits guest speakers, activity leaders, instructors, and entertainers.
Submits a current monthly schedule of all activities and special events to the Director.
Prepares and issues media releases, upon the Director of Elder Services’ approval, and promotional materials (including a newsletter) to inform Lynn seniors of all Senior Center activities, programs and services.
Oversees recruiting training, monitoring and evaluating volunteers who participate in the provision of services to Lynn’s senior population
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Acts as Senior Center Director in the absence of the Director of Elder Services.
Strong commitment to social justice and inclusivity, especially in the context of a diverse 60+ population in an urban setting.
Bachelor’s degree in a human service related field, or 3-5 years of experience in working with the 60+ population.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Bilingual/bicultural candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Elder Services.
*City residency required within six months of hire.
