In 2006, the one-hundred-ten-year-old Lynn Museum and Historical Society embarked upon a journey. With mixed emotions and thousands of boxes, we left our Green Street building, our home since 1913, and moved to spacious new headquarters, at 590 Washington Street, to become part of the Arts and Culture Block near the heart of Central Square. Imagine changing homes and moving a collection assembled over a period of more than one hundred years representing more than 375 years of Lynn history!
We are now located in an extraordinary facility with many beautiful amenities. Our new home offers opportunities for the Lynn community to gather here and get to know and appreciate its own rich history. And the Museum will be able to better fulfill our mission . . . the collection, preservation, and exhibition of Lynn’s history, and the ability to contribute to the life of the city and the surrounding area.
